Our annual Christmas Party in the woods will take place on Sunday the 16th December from 2-4pm. It’ll be filled with merriment and adventure, those who have joined us in previous years will know that we finish off by singing our very own version of The 12 days of Christmas, with lyrics about newts, squirrels and other woodland creatures. There’ll be a secret trail with clues and codes to decipher, whittling, wreath making, and cooking by the campfire, polished off with hot chocolate for the children and mulled wine for the adults. A fun afternoon for the whole family.
Where: Dacres Woods Nature Reserve, Dacres Road, Forest Hill. The entrance to the reserve is on Honeyfield Mews.
About the reserve:
Dacres Wood is a beautiful little reserve, adjacent to the railway line. It has a woodland, meadow and a pond, teaming with wildlife. On quiet afternoons you might hear the woodpeckers and on very special occasions the sparrow hawk might be spotted flying in the sky overhead, or even perched atop an old oak tree.
